Star of India

Star of India, San Diego, California

She is my favorite windjammer, built in 1863, she is the second oldest ship still sailing regularly and the oldest iron-hulled merchant ship still floating. She is both a California Historical Landmark and United States Historic Landmark. The Star of India is home-ported at the San Diego Maritime Museum.  I love just looking at this marvel, she’s beautiful, graceful, and stunning, a true masterpiece!

Caught Looking

Caught Looking at La Jolla Shores, California
I found this more interesting not because of the beautiful beach, not the surfers in the background, not the kids playing, nope! It's fun because mister cool got caught by the girlfriend looking at the other girl. They were holding hands a second before that image was captured. That's why I enjoy photographing candid people pics; you never know what you’re going to get at any given time. Every day is different, the people and the weather are constantly in a state of flux. When I look at people pics, it's more fun to look deep into the image beyond the obvious main charters, and look through the multiple layers of that image, that's what I find fun!Visit www.billhamiltonmedia.com.All images ©2000-2013 Bill Hamilton. 700 meters to go...

Hall of Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum,  Nanjing, China

It was a foggy, rainy day in Nanjing as we started our 700 meter trek up to the top of the monument. There were very few people compared to the usual large crowds to visit the national treasure. Built in 1929 it sits at the foot of the second peak of Mount Zijin or Purple Mountain. It's worth the claim if you ever have the chance.

Under The Bridge

Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge

This photo was taken under the Nanjing River Bridge, the second level is rail and upper lever is the highway, and under are these pillars supporting the bridge. We were walking to the parking lot to our tour bus and I noticed he structure with the late afternoon sun was hitting the columns just right, and this is the result.

Its upper deck is part of, China National Highway 104, spanning 4,588 meters. Its lower deck is a 6,772-metre-long double-track railway and completes the Beijing-Shanghi railway, which had been divided by the Yangtze for decades. It was an awesome architectural achievement, especially on a foggy, rainy day.

Fishing Boat

Fishing Boat in the port of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan
I found this an interesting image because of the relationship between the boat and the homes. It was an overcast day, very warm, and the water was extremely calm, which gave me the great reflections. I'm posting both the black and white and color versions of this image, let me know which you like best!
